Organised by the National Arts Council, join guest lecturer Tricia Walton, Executive Director of Carclew, as she uses real life case studies to discuss new ways of creating, marketing and evaluating a youth arts project. About Tricia Walton

Tricia has 25 years’ experience in arts administration, management and governance of small-to-medium youth arts, training and publishing organisations. She is experienced in strategic leadership, organisational change and policy development.


Since 2008 Tricia has been Chief Executive of Carclew, a lead youth arts organisation delivering a multi-arts and funding program across South Australia for children and young people, up to the age of 26. Prior to this role, she was Director of regional arts program delivery for Country Arts SA, Manager of Kurruru, an Aboriginal youth performing arts organisation, and editor of Artwork Magazine for Community Arts Network SA. Currently Tricia chairs A>R>T a collective of artists, academics and educators committed to arts rich learning environments in South Australian primary schools. She is a non-executive director of the Australian Dance Theatre and Chair of the SA Writers’ Centre. Tricia has a BA Degree (Literary Studies), a Grad Dip (Education and Training of Adults), is a fellow of the South Australian Governor’s Leadership Foundation and a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD).
